Ohiolina Music Festival (Fri. 15 Sep, 2017 5:00 pm - Sat. 16 Sep, 2017 8:00 pm)

Celebrating our fifth year in 2017, the Ohiolina Music Festival celebrates music and culture from the Appalachian region stretching from Ohio to North Carolina.

Listen to exceptional folk, rock, Americana and bluegrass as musicians fill our natural amphitheater with gorgeous sound.

Taste local and regionally-inspired menus and sip drinks from some of Ohio and North Carolina’s best breweries and wineries.

Enjoy a family-friendly atmosphere with activities for all ages.

Relax in a peaceful hideaway—a little bit remote, a little bit historic, it's a quick weekend escape with lush landscapes and beautiful views. It's pretty quiet up here—except when the music is playing.

How I Became a Pirate (Fri. 15 Sep, 2017 7:30 pm)

Set sail on a rowdy pirate adventure June 23, 24 and 25 when MTVarts revives "How I Became A Pirate" at the Memorial Theatre.

“How I Became a Pirate” tells the story of Jeremy Jacob, a young boy with exceptional digging skills who is recruited by Captain Braid Beard to be the treasure-burying expert on his pirate crew. Jeremy thinks the pirate life is for him, until he begins to realize the simple things in life – like being kissed and tucked into a warm bed each night – are the most important.

All your favorite pirates (and a few new crew) will be returning for this raucous tale of high sea adventure written by Ohio's own composer /lyricst team of Janet Yates Vogt and Mark Friedman.  Based on the book written by Melissa Young with illustrations by David Shannon this show is the perfect choice for a family outing - perfect for the young audience.

Everyone gets a chance to meet the pirates after the show!
