Quarry Chapel Concert (Sun. 10 Sep, 2017 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm)

If Ernest Tubb Could Sing

Join us for a free concert with IETCS, a three-member group inspired by the many streams of America’s rich musical traditions. Their unplugged music spans classic country, rockabilly, early pop standards, contemporary singer-songwriter ballads, and Appalachian old-time stringband music. Howard Sacks and David Suggs play guitar, Judy Sacks is on mandolin, and everybody sings.

The group’s name is a fond tribute to Ernest Tubb, country superstar of the mid-twentieth century.

How I Became a Pirate (Fri. 15 Sep, 2017 7:30 pm)

Set sail on a rowdy pirate adventure June 23, 24 and 25 when MTVarts revives "How I Became A Pirate" at the Memorial Theatre.

“How I Became a Pirate” tells the story of Jeremy Jacob, a young boy with exceptional digging skills who is recruited by Captain Braid Beard to be the treasure-burying expert on his pirate crew. Jeremy thinks the pirate life is for him, until he begins to realize the simple things in life – like being kissed and tucked into a warm bed each night – are the most important.

All your favorite pirates (and a few new crew) will be returning for this raucous tale of high sea adventure written by Ohio's own composer /lyricst team of Janet Yates Vogt and Mark Friedman.  Based on the book written by Melissa Young with illustrations by David Shannon this show is the perfect choice for a family outing - perfect for the young audience.

Everyone gets a chance to meet the pirates after the show!
