- General info
This small park features a stunning 25-foot waterfall, named after Honey Run stream. The park is open 365 days a year. Visitors can hike from the waterfall to the Kokosing River, which showcases spectacular blackhand sandstone cliffs and boulders. Honey Run Highlands Park can be accessed from the parking lot, too.
Honey Run Waterfall contains a rare plant community (disjunct boreal habitat more often found in Canada), and unique views of the blackhand sandstone that was formed some 350 million years ago.
Towering Eastern hemlocks, witch-hazel, partridge-berry, wild ginger, and round-leaved hepatica grace this natural area.
