The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad depot, located five blocks west of the square on High Street, served as Mount Vernon's front door for more than 95 years as a telegraph office, freight and passenger railroad station. Owned by the City of Mount Vernon, the B&O depot has undergone a complete renovation which was completed in November 2007. The depot is one of Mount Vernon's community resources and is available for events. The station is located at 507 West High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050.
As a meeting place, the B&O Depot can seat 60.

Red Fox Country Inn is located on 15 rolling acres in scenic central Ohio. It sits 1000 feet from the road, near a spring that served as its water source. It was originally built in the 1830s to house travelers on the Danville-Amity Wagon road and later became a farm home. In 1994 the farm home was renovated into a Country Style bed & breakfast. Local lore suggests that the barn roof was finished the day the Civil War ended. The Inn offers a quiet, unique and relaxing vacation or weekend experience with five guest rooms, private baths, air-conditioning. Enjoy the Inn's wonderful fresh home-made treats.

Table Rock is one of the county's more challenging courses, especially the well-treed backside. Several lakes on the back nine can snare golfers, affecting the overall score. This 72 par course has a large selection of new and used clubs and is open year round, from 7:00 a.m. until dark.

The Barn is available for rentals March - December. It is heated with a wood burning outdoor furnace which provides radiant heat throughout the flooring. Other amenities include a full kitchen two bathrooms, seating areas and a spacious loft area with a large TV, pool table, ping pong and air hockey tables. Outdoors there is a lighted basketball court, fire ring, outdoor grill and plenty of room for outdoor games and other activities.

A couple specific areas of interest include the Great Room in the Administration Building, a 3,200 square foot room modeled after the dining hall of a castle in Edinburgh, Scotland. The room is available for rent to the public for receptions, parties and other events. The center also operates a greenhouse and retail store (Willow Works) for the sale of flowers, plants and handmade original woodwork for the home and garden.
While its name and focus of services has evolved over the past century, MVDC has an established tradition of providing quality programs and specialized services to the most vulnerable citizens of Knox County their families.

ThePlace@TheWoodward, adjacent to the 1851 Woodward Opera House building, is part of the developing Woodward arts complex. This venue is seperate from the Woodward Opera House, which is under restoration. The small theater is a former storefront being utilized as the historic theater is being renovated. The Woodward Opera House Theater is America's oldest authentic 19th century theater.
Once the Woodward is completely renovated and the arts complex is complete, ThePlace@TheWoodward space will become part of a retail cluster in the atrium of the Woodward facility complex. Various performances throughout the year are held at ThePlace@TheWoodward.
