Find out more about the 2016 Knox County Barn Tour here:

The Knox County Barn Tour is a bi-annual event highlighting historic barns in Knox County. The five historic barns on this year's tour, one of which received the 2013 Barn of the Year Award from Friends of Ohio Barns, are a convenient drive starting and ending in Mount Vernon, driving northwest and east, to cover a 25 mile triangle. Enjoy the beautiful views at all the barns.

There will be a barn dance following the tour from 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. at the Mount Vernon Barn Company (19260 Hopwell Road, Mount Vernon).  Admission is FREE!

Every two years since 2008 the Knox County Renaissance Foundation has produced a  barn tour, and every time the attendance has doubled from the previous tour. In 2012  approximately 600 people visited 5 barns. Twenty five historic barns have been opened to the public for the one day event in the past three events. No barns have ever been repeated.  There has never been a charge for this event which is held to celebrate the cultural heritage of Knox County.  Any proceeds from the event however go to further the mission of KCRF and toward the ongoing conservation of the historic IOOF Building at 112-114 South Main Street in Mount Vernon, the home and restoration project of KCRF.
