The first weekend of October in Knox County is jam packed with excitement and it’s the perfect time to plan that long weekend visit with us. From festive fall markets to foodies celebrations, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Heart of Ohio Farmers Market, October 3rd

Join the local farmers and vendors for the last market of the season in Centerburg. Visitors can expect fresh produce, local meats, eggs, baked goods and more.

*Local Tip: Start your morning in Centerburg by stopping at Kolacheez for an authentic Texas kolache and a latte. Stroll Main Street and shop with Marigold on Main, Village Mercantile and More Space at Your Place.

Rural Society Antique & Garden Sale, October 4th-5th

Located on the picturesque grounds of the Warwick Farm (2024 Best of Columbus Weddings), The Rural Society is back with it’s most coveted event, the Antique & Garden Sale! Hosted every Fall, Winter and Spring, this event brings talented antique vendors from all across the state and beyond. Antiques, curiosities, plants, baked goods and more are spread throughout the venue, while local food trucks and onsite bar staff keep you satisfied while you shop.

*Local tip: Parking is $20 per vehicle, so load up your car with your best pals and have a great night shopping, sipping and enjoying a one of a kind venue.

Johnny Appleseed Apple Festival, October 4th

Join Experience Mount Vernon for an evening of family fun and festivities at the Johnny Appleseed Apple Festival sponsored by the Peoples Bank of Gambier. This annual celebration honors the legacy of Johnny Appleseed in our region and kick-off the autumn season. Attendees will enjoy food trucks, vendors, live music, children's performances, reenactments, and more.

*Local Tip: Come early to Downtown Mount Vernon to shop and sip!

Market at the Manor, October 5th

Nicole Miller, owner + operator of Nicole Leone Miller Photography, is excited to bring the first annual Market at The Manor to Mount Vernon. The Miller Manor, is a hauntingly beautiful, abandoned 1800s venue; perfect for photo sessions, curated events and more. Shop antiques, art, handmade goods, tarot readings, tin-types & other curiosities.

*Local Tip: Start your morning at the Mount Vernon Farmers Market, then make you way down to Pleasant Street to the Miller Manor; where Sunny Sips beverage truck will have all the fall drinks to get you in the spirit.

Fredericktown Harvest Festival, October 5th

Fredericktown Main Street welcomes you to spend an afternoon celebrating, shopping and so much more. After a full summer of renovations to their downtown district, Fredericktown is excited to cut the ribbon on their streetscape project. Join the celebration starting at 12PM, while local vendors line the streets, visitors and community members enjoy pumpkin painting, bounce house, chili cook-off and more.

*Local Tip: Birding enthusiasts & nature lovers, bring your binoculars and head over to Ackerman Nature Preserve to check out their new birding boxes.

Acoustic Eidolon, October 5th

Presented by the Community Concert Association of Knox County, Acoustic Eidolon brings a unique sound both new and nostalgic to the Knox Memorial stage. With guitar and cello, this duo of Hannah Akire and Joe Scott draw from Celtic, Americana, folk and flamenco music.

*Local Tip: Grab dinner and drinks before the show! You can’t go wrong with a few local favorites like, Road Hog Willy’s BBQ, Flapper’s Bar & Grille, Bickerdykes Table and Tap and The Alcove Restaurant & Lounge.

Knox Foodies 5th Annual Food Truck Rally, October 6th

A social media movement and a passionate group of local foodie experts, bring you the 5th Annual Knox Foodies Food Truck Rally! A day full of amazing food, great music, local merchants, makers market and more…did someone say Taylor Swift Dance Party!? Come hungry and leave happy!

*Local Tip: BYOB; Bring your own BIKE! The Mount Vernon square is only a few blocks from the confluence of the Kokosing Gap Trail and the Heart of Ohio Trail. It’s a great time to see enjoy the views on the trail as the leaves start to change.
