All aboard to adventure.
A junction between arrival and departure, you'll find us ready to greet you at the CA&C Visitor Center. Constructed in 1905 as a passenger station for The Cleveland, Akron and Columbus Railroad, this rail station was a passageway for many visitors from 1905 to 1952, when the last passenger train went through.
In 2014, Ariel-Foundation Park and the City of Mount Vernon renovated the CA&C Depot as part of their comprehensive park plan. In 2019, the Knox County Chamber of Commerce and Knox County Convention and Visitors Bureau offices moved to this central location along the trail and downtown.
Thousands of visitors stop by the CA&C Visitor Center every year to learn more about the trails, parks, rivers and all the amenities Knox County has to offer. Open Monday through Friday, 9AM-5PM, guests can fill their water bottles and use the restrooms before they start off on their journey.
Interested in learning more about historical landmarks, culture, and industry of Knox County? Visit our friends at the Knox County Historical Society every Thursday-Saturday, 2PM-4PM (April-November).
