Step into history at the next Coffee Cup as the Woodward Opera House welcomes local historian, journalist, and Civil War reenactor Fred Main for an engaging evening of storytelling and conversation.

Drawing from decades of experience as a Civil War reenactor, Main will share fascinating stories from reenactments at Gettysburg, Infirmary Mound Park, and the historic village of Zoar, offering a firsthand look at the lives of Civil War soldiers. Learn about the uniforms, equipment, daily routines, and challenges faced by those who served during one of the most pivotal periods in American history.

Main also served as a leader of Mount Vernon's chapter of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, helping organize local Civil War encampments, period dances, and community events. He played a key role in raising funds to restore the 4th Ohio Infantry Monument at Gettysburg and participated in its 2005 rededication ceremony.
