In celebration of America's 250th anniversary, From This Place brings together the work of artists from across Knox County for a thoughtful exploration of memory, community, and hope.
While rooted in local experiences and landscapes, the exhibition reaches beyond place to consider larger questions of identity, belonging, and shared purpose. Through painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media, From This Place invites visitors to reflect on the histories we inherit, the communities we build, and the future we hope to create together.
Presented at the Schnormeier Gallery in downtown Mount Vernon, this community-centered exhibition offers an opportunity to experience the perspectives of local artists during a milestone moment in American history.
Featured artists include Richard Cowdrey, Sarah Gabric, Kathleen Goode, Craig Hill, Kim and Pam Rose, Brian Bäby, Sara Keith, Barry Gunderson, Claudia Esslinger, John Donnelly, Bridget Fox, Kyle Keith, Laura Tabbut, Justin Sorensen, and Raeschell Noonen.
