This free community event will mark Constitution Day and the opening of Constitution Week, observed annually Sept. 17 - 23.

Thirteen community members, symbolizing the 13 original states, will take turns reading the original 1787 Constitution aloud during this hour-long event. Readers will include community representatives and members of the Lucy Knox Chapter.

Before the individual readings begin, everyone attending will be invited to stand and read the Preamble together, beginning with the Constitution's familiar words, "We the People of the United States..."
