Community Park has been the keystone of the Fredericktown Recreation District Park system for the past 30 years. It serves as the host area for many sporting, family and entertainment events throughout the entire year. Six to seven thousand people will attend our July 4th celebration each year. Many thousands more will also use the park on a scheduled basis for shelter reservations throughout the year. From birthday parties, business meetings, family reunions, church picnics, weddings, and educational classes to much more use the Parks all year. The North branch of Kokosing River, which is an Ohio Scenic River, splits Community Park and is a good place for fishing and relaxing. Located inside Community Park, is Sockman Lake, a half acre swimming lake opened during the summer months. The Lake phone number is 740-694-6391. Community Park has 8 open shelters and 1 enclosed shelter capable of seating 100 people. There are also 4 ball fields, 2 volleyball courts, and a football/soccer field.
