Visit Knox County Ohio

MOUNT VERNON, OH — March 17, 2026- The Knox County Convention & Visitors Bureau (KCCVB) is excited to announce the launch of the 2026-2027 Official Adventure Guide. Produced in collaboration with Great Lakes Publishing, this new biennial magazine serves as the definitive resource for visitors looking to explore the scenic landscapes, historic charm, and vibrant local culture of Knox County.

The 2026-2027 edition introduces a fresh, "field guide" aesthetic, encouraging visitors to treat the magazine as a companion for their journeys. From the rolling Amish countryside to the energetic downtown of Mount Vernon and the charming villages, the guide highlights the diverse experiences that define the region.

"This guide is designed to be as much an inspiration as it is a roadmap," said Olivia Toth, Executive Director of the Knox County CVB. "We’ve focused on storytelling and seasonal highlights to show that whether you’re here for a weekend cycling trip, a girl’s getaway or a quiet retreat, we’re here to guide you on your next adventure in Knox County."

Key Features of the 2026-2027 Adventure Guide:

  • A "Field Guide" Approach: The magazine features interactive checklists and seasonal "must-do" activities, including spring birdwatching at Ackerman Nature Preserve and autumn photography at Honeyrun Highlands Park.

  • The "Backroads & Brews" Coffee Trail: A dedicated section introducing the county's new digital coffee pass, highlighting local favorites like The Brickhouse Grind, Kolacheez Coffee Bar, The Blonde Robin and more.

  • Trail Town Heritage: Comprehensive coverage of the region’s 35 miles of multi-use trails, including the Kokosing Gap, Mohican Valley, Owl Creek and Heart of Ohio trails, emphasizing Knox County’s role as a premier destination for outdoor recreation.

  • Local Flavors & Stays: Updated listings for farm-to-table dining, unique boutiques, and cozy accommodations ranging from boutique hotels to historic bed-and-breakfasts.

The guide was officially introduced this week following a "Launch and Learn" event at the CA&C Visitor Center, where tourism partners gathered to preview the publication and discuss strategic growth for the 2026-2027 season.

The 2026-2027 Adventure Guide is available for free at the CA&C Visitor Center (501 S. Main St., Mount Vernon) and at various distribution points throughout Ohio and beyond. Visitors planning their trip can also view the interactive digital flipbook and request a physical copy by mail here.
